The upcoming Honda CB1000GT is a sport-touring evolution of the CB1000 Hornet. The bike has surfaced through homologation filings in Australia, hinting at an official debut at EICMA in the coming weeks — and it looks like Honda’s next big mile-muncher has some serious sting.
At first glance, the CB1000GT strikes a perfect balance between naked aggression and touring finesse. A partial fairing flows seamlessly from the fuel tank, offering more wind protection while still showing off those gorgeous four header pipes — a nod to the Hornet’s raw mechanical charm. The tall windscreen, handguards, and center stand scream practicality, while a beefier seat setup with grab handles ensures both rider and pillion stay comfortable mile after mile.

Underneath the sculpted bodywork sits Honda’s trusted 999cc inline-four, tuned to deliver 147.5 hp at 11,000 rpm — slightly mellowed from the Hornet SP’s output, but still plenty potent for spirited touring. Expect silky power delivery, that signature Honda refinement, and just enough growl to keep your throttle hand twitching.

The GT gets longer travel suspension, a relaxed riding triangle, and a longer wheelbase, making it more stable on open highways. Honda’s attention to detail continues with Nissin radial-mount brakes, a quickshifter, and mounting points for panniers — ready for riders who like to travel far and fast.

Despite its added gear, the CB1000GT keeps things manageable with a sub-226 kg curb weight, proving that sport-touring doesn’t have to mean bulky. The upward-swept tail, modern LED headlamp, and streamlined fairing add a sleek, purposeful aesthetic that fits the “GT” badge perfectly.
If the standard CB1000 Hornet is the city streetfighter, the CB1000GT is its globe-trotting chariot — the same aggressive DNA, but bred for distance and refinement. More details about the new model are expected at the EICMA. Let’s see when we get to see the motorcycle here in the UAE.
