It was almost a year ago when the news regarding Dubai Police planning to include a Hoverbike in its fleet of patrol vehicles first broke out. Back then things were in the initial stages, but we were sure that sooner or later we are going to see patrolling Hoverbikes in the streets of Dubai. Today, Dubai Police continues the testing of the Hoverbike S3 2019 and we can see the progress.
There is a video that has been released by Hoversurf, the Russian company which has made the Hoverbike, showing the Hoverbike being tested by a few people. It seems that things are going in the right direction and it wouldn’t be long when this thing can officially be let out in the city.
However, after watching the video, many people showed concerned regarding the omission of any kind of safety feature around the rotating blades of the Hoverbike. Responding to these concerns, Khalid N Alrazooqi, Dubai police Chief Information Officer, confirmed on Twitter that the Hoverbike will have safety rings around its blades.

Dubai Media Office also shared a few pictures of the Hoverbike S3 2019 with a statement, ‘Another sign that we are catching up to the future.’ The Hoverbike weighs around 114kg and it can attain speeds of up to 96-97kph (60mph). It can hover 5m or 16 feet above the ground.
The primary motive of this machine would be to reach crime scenes or places that are not easily accessible otherwise. The Hoverbike would be among the first response vehicles. It is being speculated that by 2020, Dubai Police will start using the Hoverbike S3 2019.
