It is a well-known fact all over the world that Dubai Police has the best patrol and intercept vehicles in its fleet. Well, the two-wheeler department just inducted a crazy hoverbike and a hub-steered electric superbike to its expanding collection of exotic vehicles.

The first crazy addition the fleet is the Hoverbike. This otherworldly creation is the product of Hoversurf, a Californian startup which is under Russian stewardship. The Hoverbike costs roughly $65,000. It can hit a top speed of 64kph and can stay up there for a total of 20 minutes on a full charge.

In theory, the Hoverbike sounds really good, but it will be interesting to see how pilots will be able to safely operate the vehicle, which is essentially a big drone. Drones aren’t known as yet for their spectacular flying skills, being prone to crashes, and very dependent on proper launch to make it to operating height. A Hoverbike as large as the one Dubai Police has inducted is a potential hazard to public safety were it to go awry due to an unfortunate situation.

As if the Hoverbike is not enough, the Dubai Police also introduced an electric motorcycle which features hub-steering. The design is something out of futuristic science-fiction movies and looks like it was dreamed up together by the creators of the Ducati XDiavel and Tron, with a bit of Manga thrown in for good measure. Most importantly, the vicious-looking bike doesn’t fly. Its all-electric powertrain can propel the bike to a top speed of 200kph at full chat.Dubai-Police-Electric-Superbike-Dubai-UAE

So there you have it. If you thought the two-wheeler side of things at Dubai Police was a bit slow, you are wrong. Not only can the police now fly (albeit for a short time), they can also rip around the streets of Dubai silently, riding something that looks like Batman designed in his underground operations center. The only difference is, these two bikes are real, and not restricted to comic-cinematic universes.
