With his recent win at the final round of 2019-20 National Sportsbike Super Series, Mahmoud Tannir has become the 6x reigning Champion in the 600cc Supersport category. In the past, Tannir had won the championship title in 2012, 2013, 2017, 2018, and 2019.

Of course, it wasn’t easy. Tannir, who is a professional seasoned motorcycle racer, had a phenomenal start to the season. However, in round 2, he had a crash. Tannir lost the front end of his Honda CBR going into turn 8 and ended his race right then and there. It was quite a setback for the champion.

Thankfully, with all the help and support from his Moto-Tech team, Tannir and his motorcycle were ready to take on the remaining rounds of the National Sportsbike Super Series. From then onwards, it was no stopping for Tannir.

The last round of the 2019-20 National Sportsbike Super Series had its own share of drama and action. However, things for the Lebanese rider and his Moto-Tech crew looked pretty good from the starting. Tannir clocked his personal best lap time (1:44.95) at the Dubai Autodrome which gave him the pole position in race 1. He also put up a great fight with Ahmed Al Muyini in race 2 and took the double overall win over the weekend too.

This season of the National Sportsbike Super Series has been fabulous. Furiosa Racing, the organisers, worked very hard to make the whole season a massive success. They tried to give the motorsport as much international exposure as possible. They also brought in professional racers as wildcard entries and introduced local riders providing them with a great platform to showcase their talent.
