BMW Motorrad has just dropped something outrageous. It’s called the BMW Vision K18. And while it’s officially a concept, it feels like a bold preview of what’s next.
Unveiled at the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, the K18 pushes BMW’s six-cylinder legacy into uncharted territory. At its heart sits a massive 1800cc inline-six. Not just carried over, but completely reimagined. This engine defines the bike.

The proportions are extreme. Long. Low. Almost aircraft-like. Think Concorde inspiration. Six LED headlights. Six intake runners. Six exhaust outlets. Everything revolves around that iconic straight-six layout.

Where bikes like the BMW K1600 GTL focused on comfort, the K18 leans toward aggression. It looks faster. Feels sharper. BMW calls it “performance made visible” – and that sums it up.

The detailing is just as wild. Hand-formed aluminium body panels stretch over two metres. Forged carbon is everywhere. There’s even a hydraulically lowering suspension system and actively cooled lighting.

More importantly, this isn’t just design theatre. BMW hints at future production influence. CEO Markus Flasch calls the inline-six a statement. And he’s right.
The K1600 platform may be ageing. But the six-cylinder story? Far from over.
