Verge Motorcycles has claimed a major industry first by introducing solid-state battery technology in a production motorcycle. The updated Verge TS Pro, developed in collaboration with technology firm Donut Lab, is set to reach customers in the coming months.

According to Verge, the solid-state battery allows the TS Pro to gain up to 186 miles (300 km) of range in just 10 minutes of charging, a figure that could redefine expectations around electric motorcycle usability. In standard form, the TS Pro offers a claimed range of 217 miles (350 km), while an optional extended-range battery pack pushes that figure to an impressive 370 miles (595 km) on a single charge.

Beyond fast charging, Verge says the new battery technology is designed to last the lifetime of the motorcycle, unlike conventional lithium-ion batteries that typically degrade after thousands of charge cycles. Solid-state batteries use a solid electrolyte instead of liquid or gel, improving thermal stability and significantly reducing the risk of fire.

Performance remains a key highlight. The TS Pro is powered by Verge’s Donut 2.0 hubless motor, producing a massive 1,000 Nm of torque. This setup enables the electric motorcycle to sprint from 0–62 mph (0-100 kmph) in just 3.5 seconds.

If Verge’s claims hold up in real-world use, the TS Pro could mark a turning point for electric motorcycles, addressing long-standing concerns around charging time, battery longevity, and safety.
