BMW Motorrad has given its popular mid-weight duo, the F900 R and F900 XR, a significant refresh for 2025. The updates focus on reducing weight, enhancing ergonomics, and boosting performance, particularly for the long-distance-oriented XR.
Both models now feature new upside-down forks with adjustable damping, along with lighter cast wheels saving 1.8kg, and a lithium battery shaving nearly a kilo. Together, these changes reduce the bikes’ overall weight by 3kg. The rear light integrates indicators for a sleeker design.
Powering both bikes is the same 895cc parallel-twin engine producing 105 bhp, now compliant with Euro5+ standards. BMW has refined the Dynamic riding mode to improve traction control and added ABS Pro, offering cornering-controlled braking as standard. Engine drag torque control is also included, preventing rear-wheel skidding during downshifts.
The F900 R benefits from an updated riding position, with footrests moved back and handlebars slightly forward, creating a sportier rider triangle. Meanwhile, the F900 XR receives a redesigned front fairing and wind deflector, improving aerodynamics and reducing helmet vibration at high speeds. New hand protectors enhance rider comfort during winter rides.
For 2025, the F900 R is available in Snapper Rocks Blue, Triple Black, and Lightwhite with Racing Blue metallic. The F900 XR offers options in red, Triple Black, and a sporty Lightwhite with Racing Blue metallic.
