Vespa scooters already have their presence here in the UAE. They are pretty cool two-wheelers in their own way and have garnered quite a fan following over the years. While we do love them, wouldn’t it be nice to try something different yet similar? Would these Lambretta scooters give some good competition to Vespa?
Lambretta, a historic rival to Vespa, is known for its performance-driven scooters. Established in 1947 in Milan, Italy by Ferdinando Innocenti, Lambretta draws its name from the Lambrate suburb of Milan and the mythical water-sprite, Lambretta.
During its heyday in the sixties, Lambretta gained fame with models like the Lambretta SX and the Bertone-designed GP and DL 200 series, favored by scooter racers for their agility and speed.
Now, one of Lambretta’s interesting scooters is the G350. It features a powerful 330 cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine with EFI, delivering 27 hp and 27 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, we also have the X250 that boasts a 275 cc power plant, producing 25 hp and 27 Nm of torque. Both models have a CVT transmission and belt final drive.
Equipped with LED lighting, front and rear disc brakes with ABS, USB charging, and an LCD instrument panel (with the G350 featuring a TFT-LCD unit), Lambretta scooters blend performance and modern features seamlessly.
We can see that similar to Vespa, Lambretta also offers a combination of retro looks with modern elements in its scooters that should be able to help them stand their ground and give interested customers a new option to consider.
