2nd Dec 2017 was the 46th UAE National Day. To mark this day, Lotfi Hamrouni, a 49-years-old Tunisian-British, decided to do something different but in his own style. He decided to cover a distance of 1000km on a scooter.

Lotfi completed this amazing journey on a 300cc DusejaMoto scooter. He started his solo journey from The Retreat Palm Dubai MGallery by Sofitel in Dubai at 3 am on Friday. He visited 46 points of interest during his entire trip, which included the UAE’s highest mountain.

Just before his trip, Lotfi said, “I don’t want to see anyone in my [scooter’s] mirrors. I must stay in absolute focus from the very beginning. I have a long way to go and I need to be free from any distractions. I will have enough to come on the road ahead.”

Lotfi Hamrouni has been living in the UAE for last 14 years. He is a motivational speaker and a professional photographer. The locations that he covered in his trip include the 1,934-metre Jabal Al Jais, UAE’s highest peak in Ras Al Khaimah, and the 1,249-metre Jabal Hafeet in Al Ain, Burj Al Arab in Dubai, Sharjah Fort, Ajman fish market, Umm Al Quwain Aqua Park, and the new Louvre museum in Abu Dhabi. To complete his trip he rode continuously for 17.5 hours, pausing only for refuelling and a quick bite, and returned to his point of origin at 8:30 pm the same day.

We congratulate Lotfi Hamrouni for completing his amazing solo trip.
