Round 1 of the 2019-20 National Sportsbike Super Series was superb. We witnessed brilliant racing by the participants in all the categories. There’s no doubt that these racers are immensely talented. What made the first round even more interesting was the participation of the multiple times British Motorcycle Champion, Mike ‘Spike’ Edwards via a wildcard entry. He took the level of competition a notch higher.
The races were exciting and they kept us on the edge of our seats as there wasn’t such a big gap between the racers, especially at the front. Bike Nation sponsored rider and 5-times Champion, Mahmoud Tannir also showcased great performance and fought a tough battle and secured the 1st place in the Supersport category.
In the Superstock category, we had the local Saudi rider Ahmed Al Muyini at the 1st position and it was Mike Edwards who won in the Milwaukee Ducati Pro-Twins category.
The participation of female riders like Katerina Nazarova and Dania Akeel, who was the first female Saudi rider to participate in the National Sportsbike Super Series, was a great sight and we salute these courageous women riders.
A lot happened in the Round 1 of the 2019-20 National Sportsbike Super Series and it wouldn’t have been possible without the efforts of Furiosa Racing, organisers of this season. So, kudos to them.
Now, it’s time for Round 2 of the season that’s going to take place this weekend. We will be there to capture all the action. So make sure you are there too to experience a fantastic race day!
