The KTM 890 Duke R is a chiselled version of the KTM 790 Duke. The Super Scalpel has all the bits and pieces that make riding it supreme fun. While the 121 horsepower 890cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine of the Orange Street Monster will definitely bring a smile on your face, the exhaust note wouldn’t. It simply doesn’t suit the bike’s character. We aren’t complaining because stock exhausts need to comply with a plethora of emission and sound standards. Enter the Yoshimura AT2 Muffler.
The Yoshimura AT2 (Alpha Taper 2) Muffler is the cousin of the Yoshimura Alpha Taper Muffler. It has made its debut with the KTM 890 Duke R. The AT2 has new styling with an all-new matte carbon fibre end cap and heal guard as well as an all-new faceted inner end cap assembly. It just looks fast standing still! It is a perfect match for the edgy, compact, thrilling, and torque monster, the 890 Duke R.
The exhaust note that the AT2 delivers is second to none. One crack of the wrist and the 890cc twin thunders like it’s ready for playtime. It sounds more raw and angry. Compared to the stock muffler of the 890 Duke R which weighs 3.35 kg, the Yoshimura AT2 muffler is lighter at 2.17 kg. It also increases the power and torque output of the motorcycle by 1.5 hp and 1.62 Nm. Combine the Yoshimura AT2 Muffler with the brand’s Fender Eliminator Kit and you’ve got yourself a cleaner but meaner rear end of the Super Scalpel.
The Yoshimura AT2 muffler has an MSRP of USD 549 which converts to AED 2016.
