Indian Motorcycle is taking its PowerPlus V-twin platform to the next level, migrating the Chieftain and Roadmaster models from the air-cooled Thunderstroke 1890cc to the liquid-cooled 1834cc PowerPlus engine. This move doubles the PowerPlus touring lineup, now including the Pursuit and Challenger as well.
The updated 60-degree V-twin, developed in King of the Baggers racing, cranks out 124.3bhp and 181 Nm of torque at just 3800rpm, delivering effortless power in any gear. A 22.7-litre fuel tank, shared across the lineup, ensures long-haul capability.
Both the Chieftain and Roadmaster now feature 43mm USD forks, a monoshock with hydraulic preload adjustment, and radial Brembo brakes with 320mm discs. The Roadmaster and Pursuit get electronically adjustable suspension for easy tuning via the TFT display.
Comfort gets a boost with a fork-mounted fairing, an adjustable 100mm windscreen, and available heated and cooled seats. The Roadmaster and Pursuit also pack over 140 litres of luggage space, making them serious contenders for long-distance touring.
