KTM has finally pulled the wraps off the much-anticipated 390 Adventure R, a rugged off-road variant of its popular lightweight adventure bike. Set to hit showrooms by March 2025, this is the first R-badged KTM produced outside Austria, with Bajaj Auto handling manufacturing in India.

Heavily inspired by the 390 Enduro R, the new Adventure R packs a 399cc LC4c single-cylinder engine producing 44 bhp and 40 Nm of torque. The updated motor features a lighter stainless steel exhaust, revised fuel injection, and a reworked gearbox with a slipper clutch.

A larger 14-litre tank extends the range to 417 km, while a rally-style fairing houses full LED lighting.

Built for serious off-road action, the bike features a high-mounted handlebar, a reworked frame, and WP APEX 43mm open cartridge forks with 230mm of travel. The 21/18-inch spoked wheels come wrapped in Mitas E07+ 50/50 rubber, with the option for full knobby tires.

Tech highlights include a 5-inch TFT display, three riding modes (Street, Off-Road, and Rain), cornering ABS, switchable traction control, and optional cruise control.

With Dakar-winning DNA and a lightweight frame, the 390 Adventure R aims to be the most dirt-capable small ADV yet.
