In stage 2, riders covered a total distance of 393 km from Al Wajh to Neom going through a lot of sand and dust. Just like any other stage of Dakar, this one, too, was as difficult as it could get. Following are the motorbike results after stage 2.
TOBY PRICE, who was first at the end of stage 1, got down to the 15th position and his place has been taken by ROSS BRANCH from BAS DAKAR KTM RACING TEAM who finished first with a time of 03H 39′ 10”.
With a time of 03H 40′ 34”, SAM SUNDERLAND from RED BULL KTM FACTORY TEAM secured the 2nd position with a variation of + 00H 01′ 24”.
The 3rd position at the end of stage 2 was occupied by PABLO QUINTANILLA from ROCKSTAR ENERGY HUSQVARNA FACTORY RACING. His time was 03H 41′ 31” and he was + 00H 02′ 21” behind the leader.
RICKY BRABEC of MONSTER ENERGY HONDA TEAM 2020, who finished 2nd in stage 1, dropped down to the 11th position in stage 2. Similarly, MATTHIAS WALKNER from RED BULL KTM FACTORY TEAM finished at the 8th position in stage 2. He was at the 3rd position yesterday.
Coming to our local team, VENDETTARACINGUAE.COM’s DAVID MCBRIDE, who was at 109th position in stage 1, improved his score by a huge margin and scored an applaudable 88th position in stage 2. His time was 05H 50′ 05”. His teammate, DAVID MABBS could manage to cross the line at 116th position, four positions higher than yesterday, with a time of 06H 20′ 06”.
MOHAMMED BALOOSHI from DUUST RALLY TEAM also improved his result. Yesterday, he finished at the 42nd place and today he was at the 39th place with a time of 04H 26′ 55”. ABDULLAH AL SHATTI of the same team was at the 45th position at the end of the day with a time of 04H 30′ 51”. He was at the 49th position in stage 1.

Stage 3 of Dakar 2020 will set off on 7th January. Riders will cover a total distance of 504 km.
