Motorcycling in the UAE has always had one slightly unusual characteristic: plenty of people love motorcycles, but not everyone wants — or needs — to own one.
Some riders have a bike sitting in the garage that needs looking after through Dubai’s long summer. Others live here but only ride during the cooler months. And then there are the visitors who arrive in the UAE, see the weather, see the roads and immediately start wondering where they can get a motorcycle.
Dubai-based Riders Choice has introduced two services aimed squarely at those different riders: RC Care, for people who own motorcycles, and the Season Pass, for those who would rather have access to a selection of bikes without owning one.
Together, they’re an interesting attempt to make riding in the UAE a little easier.
RC Care: Someone Looking After Your Bike — Even When You’re Not Riding It
Anyone who has left a motorcycle parked through a Dubai summer knows that not riding doesn’t mean no maintenance.
Batteries lose charge, tyre pressures change, chains need attention and small issues have an annoying habit of appearing just when riding season finally returns.
RC Care tackles that problem with a subscription-based motorcycle care service. Riders Choice visits the bike once a month rather than requiring the owner to take it to a workshop, carries out a health check and provides a digital report via WhatsApp. Depending on the package, the service can also include washing, polishing, chain cleaning and lubrication, detailing and garage pick-up and drop-off. Riders Choice maintains a record of the bike’s history as part of the service.
There are three levels — Essential, Pro, and Pro+ with increasing levels of care. All include regular inspections, while Pro+ includes storing the motorcycle at Riders Choice and can even include a replacement motorcycle for up to 12 days. A three-month minimum commitment applies.
For UAE residents, particularly riders who travel frequently or own more than one motorcycle, the appeal is obvious. Your bike isn’t simply sitting untouched while you’re away.
And in this climate, preventative care can be considerably less painful than discovering a dead battery, neglected chain or other problem on the first perfect Friday morning of the season.
Season Pass: Ten Credits, 90 Days, Plenty of Motorcycles
The second idea approaches motorcycle ownership from the opposite direction.
Riders Choice Season Pass essentially gives riders a bank of 10 Day Credits to use over 90 days, with the number of riding days each credit buys depending on the motorcycle category selected.
There are again three tiers: Enthusiast, Maverick and Legend. Enthusiast covers Classes A–D, Maverick expands access through Class F, while Legend provides access across the entire A–F fleet with credits stretching further.
And that’s where things get interesting.
Rather than committing to one motorcycle, riders can move between different types of machines. The current fleet ranges from the Hero Xpulse 200 and KTM Duke 390 through bikes such as the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and Yamaha Tenere 700, all the way to machines including the BMW R nineT, Harley-Davidson Fat Bob and Triumph Rocket 3 GT.
For a UAE resident who enjoys riding but doesn’t ride enough to justify buying, registering, insuring and maintaining another vehicle, that creates an interesting alternative.
For visitors, it could be even more compelling.
Someone spending several weeks or making repeated trips to Dubai during the UAE riding season can have access to different motorcycles without the obvious complication of owning one locally. Want something light for exploring the city one day and an adventure bike for a longer ride another weekend? That’s exactly the flexibility the system is designed around.
Insurance remains separate and mandatory, credits expire after 90 days without rollover or refund, and weekend rentals require a minimum two consecutive days.
The Bike Nation Take
What we like about these two services is that Riders Choice isn’t simply trying to rent more motorcycles. It’s addressing two very UAE-specific realities.
We have motorcycles that spend months parked while their owners travel or avoid the summer heat — and we have a huge population of residents and visitors who would happily ride more often if accessing a motorcycle were easier.
RC Care makes owning a motorcycle easier. The Season Pass makes not owning one easier.
And if either means more bikes actually being ridden when UAE riding season arrives, we’re very much on board.
