One of the most anticipated rally events in the Middle East, 2019 Dubai International Baja was literally a blast in the Al-Qudra desert. Taking the crown in the motorcycle category this year is the South African rider, Aaron Mare.
Many rally enthusiasts in the region impatiently wait for the Dubai Baja every year. This competition is not as demanding as the Dakar but it surely tests the man and the machine in many ways. Riding through uncertain deserts of the Middle East, riders give their 100% to set the fastest time. This year the 406km course in the Al-Qudra desert witnessed the participants racing towards the finish line.

After two days of intense competition, Aaron Mare was the quickest on his Husqvarna. Following him at a margin of 7min 42 sec was Frenchman Benjamin Melot riding a KTM. The third place was taken by Mark Ackerman, another rider on a Husqvarna.
Speaking about his win, Mare said, “It was another great day of motorcycle racing. I really attacked at the beginning of the special. After 70km, I realized I had widened the gap with my opponents and I dropped the pace in the other two sections of the special to make no mistake and waste no time. In the end, I hit the gas again to increase my lead as much as possible.”
