Alexander Tartarini, the creator of the Velocifero brand, will attempt to set a new speed record on the 200 hp Velocifero electric scooter. The son of a former professional Ducati and Benelli racer, Leopoldo Tartarini, will ride the electric prototype at Monza on June 30.
Watching the event with keen eyes will be the Italian Motorcycle Federation, who will keep track of top speed, flying kilometre top speed and zero to 62mph acceleration.
Alexander will be riding the Velocifero Electric Scooter on the same track where his father tried to break some World Speed Records of his own with a three-wheeled cycle car, powered by a liquid-cooled CZ 250 engine 54 years ago.
