Production of the new Ducati Monster has started at the company’s Italian factory. Ducati says that the new motorcycle is slated to start arriving at dealerships in April 2021. While there hasn’t been any specific region-wise timeline, we really hope that the new Monster reaches the UAE dealerships at the earliest!

With over 350,000 units produced and distributed throughout the world, the Monster family is the best-selling and the longest-running in the history of the Bologna-based company. The new model, presented during the 2021 Ducati World Premiere, is inspired by the original 1993 philosophy: a lightweight and essential sport naked with a frame derived from the superbike and a powerful engine that is at the same time perfect for road use.

The heart of the new Ducati Monster is the 937cc L-twin engine with Desmodromic distribution. Maximum power stands at 111 hp at 9,250 rpm with a torque of 93 Nm at 6500 rpm. Thanks to the increased displacement compared to the 821cc version, torque has improved at all revs, particularly medium-low ones, which are the most commonly used on the road and through the curves. Also, there’s a new gearbox that comes with Ducati Quick Shift Up/Down fitted as standard.

Ducati engineers and designers have devoted great attention to reducing the total weight of the new Monster. The motorcycle has been completely redesigned: subframe, rims, swingarm and above all the frame. As a result, the new Ducati Monster has a dry weight of just 166 kg which makes it almost 20 kg lighter than the Monster 821.

In terms of electronics, the new Ducati Monster features cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, and launch control. The standard equipment also includes a hydraulic clutch, radial brake and clutch pumps and adjustable levers. There is a new 4.3-inch colour TFT display characterised by racing graphics. The Monster also has 3 riding modes – sport, urban, and touring.

The new Ducati Monster has two colour options – Ducati Red and Dark Stealth with black wheels, and Aviator Grey with Red GP wheels. For those who want an even more accentuated sportiness, there is the Monster Plus version which gets added front fairing and passenger seat cover as standard.
