The motorcycle community has been aware of the development and existence of the BMW R 1300 GS for a while now. But nothing official has been announced by the company. However, things are now taking shape as BMW has confirmed the unveiling date of the R 1300 GS.
As per the reports, the BMW R 1300 GS will be presented to the world in Berlin on 28th Sept as part of the 100th anniversary of BMW’s motorcycle division. All the details about the upcoming motorcycle would be disclosed.
What we know so far about the BMW R 1300 GS from various online reports is that the motorcycle would come equipped with radar-based safety systems. There would be a radar unit at the front as well as at the rear, similar to what we have seen in the latest Ducati Multistrada V4.
It is also being said that the BMW R 1300 GS would be lighter than the current R 1250 GS thanks to an all-new chassis. We would also get to see a newly designed headlamp with LED DRLs and full LED lighting. BMW could also redo the exhaust system and rider ergonomics.
As for the engine, it would be a 1300cc boxer twin churning out around 143.5 bhp compared to the 134.1 bhp of the R 1250 GS that’s currently on sale.
