After remaining closed for nearly a month, MV Agusta resumed operations in Italy last month as the country relaxed the lockdown restrictions. For a fresh start, perhaps, the Italian motorcycle maker wanted to do something different. So, it announced two new paint schemes for the utterly gorgeous and extremely fast Superveloce 800.
To select the most attractive new colour combinations for the Superveloce 800, MV Agusta designers listened to their biggest critics – MV Agusta’s fans.
The first new paint scheme for the Superveloce 800 implies MV Agusta’s classic corporate colours, Ago Red and Ago Silver, relating to the first racing motorcycles developed by the company that dominated the Gran Prix racing scene for years. The gold wheels and frame details are inspired by the thoroughbred Italian racing machines from the past to create a rich, distinctive, and personalised feel far beyond the average production of a motorcycle.
The second paint scheme includes Metallic Carbon Black and Dark Metallic Matt Grey with coordinated gold detailing on both the wheels and frame. This combination of colours provides a sophisticated sober feel, synonymous with the Formula1 racing of the 70’s providing a rich yet restrained alternative to the Corporate MV Agusta colours.
Apart from the new colour options, no changes have been made in the award-winning Superveloce 800. The motorcycle is powered by a 799cc, 3-pot engine that also handles the duties in the MV Agusta F3. This powerhouse is capable of producing 148 bhp.
