Honda E-VO headlight

Honda has officially entered the electric motorcycle arena with the E-VO, launched in China under the Wuyang-Honda partnership, and it’s got bike enthusiasts buzzing.

Styled like a modern-day cafe racer, the E-VO is a head-turner with its round LED headlamp, bubble fairing, clip-ons, bar-end mirrors, and a neatly sculpted body hiding the battery pack. It’s retro meets future, and it works.

Performance-wise, Honda’s debut electric bike doesn’t disappoint. It runs a 15.3kW motor, backed by two battery options: a 4.1kWh setup delivering 120km range and a meatier 6.2kWh pack good for 170km (WMTC). Charging times are brisk – 1.5 hours for the smaller pack and 2.5 hours for the larger one. Weight is 143kg and 156kg, respectively, and it all sits on a forged aluminum chassis with a unique 16-14-inch wheel combo and disc brakes at both ends.

Tech lovers will appreciate the dual 7-inch TFT displays, three riding modes, built-in navigation, music control, and a TPMS. The base trim even gets a front dash cam, while the top-spec adds one at the rear too. There is also DJI Action Cam link support to pair your action cam for seamless video capture.

Honda E-VO unveiled

For now, the Honda E-VO will be made available only in the Chinese market. And whether it will reach enthusiasts and customers in other parts of the world or not is still unknown. While we wait for Honda to spill the beans on this, would you buy one if it is launched in the UAE?
