Harley-Davidson has pulled the sheets off from the all-new Sportster S – the latest model in the American motorcycle company’s lineup to be powered by the brand’s new Revolution engine. And it’s not just the powerplant, everything else about this machine is captivating indeed.
Let’s start with the looks. Harley-Davidson has really nailed it with the aesthetics of the new Sportster S. It looks bold and muscular, chunky and purposeful, heavy and powerful; all traits of a proper “Sportster”. There are a plethora of features of this motorcycle that seek attention, however, we think it’s the high-mount double-barrel exhausts that steal the show. They are inspired by the glory days of Harley-Davidson’s flat-track racing. They surely look phenomenal and we’re sure they sound freaking awesome, too.
Coming to the heart of the new Harley-Davidson Sportster S. Powering this motorcycle is the brand’s Revolution Max 1250T engine. It’s a liquid-cooled V-twin featuring DOHC and VVT. We have already experienced a variant of this motor in the new Harley-Davidson Pan America that we’ve reviewed recently. In the Sportster S, the Revolution Max produces 125 Nm of ground-shredding torque.
Harley-Davidson has also worked on the electronics of the new Sportster S. The motorcycle comes with 3 pre-programmed riding modes (sport, road, rain). The company is also offering riders to create their own custom mode – meaning tuning the motorcycle as per your taste by tinkering the power delivery, engine braking, ABS, traction control, and stuff. All of which can be adjusted on the gorgeous 4-inch round LCD instrument cluster that also features Bluetooth connectivity.
We can’t wait for the new Harley-Davidson Sportster S to arrive in showrooms here in the UAE so that we can swing our legs over it and tell you guys everything about this fantastic new motorcycle from HD. The Sportster S will be available in 3 colours – Vivid Black, Midnight Crimson, and Stone Washed White Pearl. As for the pricing, reports say that Harley-Davidson is asking for a starting price of GBP 13,999 in the UK that converts to around AED 71,150.
