Royal-Enfield-SG650-Concept

Petrol-powered two-wheeler manufacturers have started to enter the EV industry. And multiple new companies are sharing the space with established brands. Royal Enfield, which is the oldest continuous-production motorcycle manufacturer in the world, is also expected to dip its toes in the same waters.

As per media reports, an electric Royal Enfield motorcycle could become a reality by 2025. It is being said that the company’s MD has revealed that RE is around two years away before its first EV hits the market. He also stated that testing is in process and the brand will take its time so that it can launch a disruptive product rather than a half-baked one.

No official details regarding the electric Royal Enfield have been announced yet. Hence, it would be interesting to see how would the company enter the EV space and plant its feet firmly in the ground.

As for the petrol-powered models, Royal Enfield is currently testing multiple machines such as a 650cc Scrambler, new Himalayan, etc.
