After giving some tough competition to motorcycles in the litre class, Aprilia is now ready to give the models in the 400cc category some sleepless nights with its latest offering, the Aprilia RS 457. This new motorcycle from the Italian brand will rival the likes of Yamaha R3 and Kawasaki Ninja 400.
As you’d have guessed by now, the Aprilia RS 457 is kind of a smaller sibling of the RS 660. It indeed looks quite similar and we are not complaining. Aprilia knows how to make eye-catching motorcycles. And it also knows how to make some performance-oriented models.
One of the key features that set the Aprilia RS 457 apart from the competition is the aluminium frame that uses the engine’s crankcase as a stressed member of the chassis. Most of the bikes in the segment use a steel frame.
Powering the Aprilia RS 457 is a twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that makes 47 horses which should be enough to offer a good amount of punch considering that the bike weighs 159 kg dry.
Some of the other interesting elements of the Aprilia RS 457 include a fully digital instrument cluster, nice-looking clip-ons, full-LED lighting, quickshifter available as an accessory, 41mm front forks, 320 mil front disc brake and 220 mil rear.
