Triumph has dipped deep into its heritage playbook with the new Speed Twin 1200 Cafe Racer Edition, a limited-run modern classic capped at just 800 units worldwide. Based on the already brilliant Speed Twin 1200 RS, this version cranks up the nostalgia while keeping the performance bits exactly where riders want them.

The biggest change is the riding stance. Flat bars make way for clip-ons, instantly giving the bike a lower, more aggressive cafe racer posture. You also get a single-seat setup with a brown bullet-style saddle and a removable rear cowl, while pillion pegs are deleted as standard (though Triumph includes them if you want the option). Each bike comes with a numbered certificate, reinforcing that this is more than a cosmetic special.

Thankfully, Triumph hasn’t messed with the mechanical formula. Suspension duties are handled by fully adjustable Marzocchi forks and twin Ohlins shocks, while Brembo Stylema calipers bite down on 320mm discs. Sticky Metzeler Racetec RR K3 tyres complete a chassis package that already works exceptionally well on the RS.

Power comes from the familiar 1200cc Bonneville parallel twin, pumping out 105 PS and 112 Nm, with that characterful 270-degree crank delivering loads of torque and a proper old-school soundtrack. Electronics include multiple riding modes, cornering ABS, traction control and Triumph’s slick bi-directional quickshifter.

Finished in Competition Green and Aluminium Silver, with bar-end mirrors, knee pads and brushed aluminium mudguards, the Cafe Racer Edition nails the 1960s vibe without trying too hard. Deliveries begin March 2026—and with only 800 units up for grabs, this one won’t hang around.
