Ever since their launch, the Royal Enfield 650 Twins have established quite an impressive fan following across the globe. So much so that RE has introduced the Super Meteor 650 based on the same parallel twin engine. Now, to stir things up a little, the company has launched the Continental GT 650 Thunder Edition and Interceptor 650 Lightning Edition.
Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Thunder Edition
Well, there aren’t a whole lot of changes here. What Royal Enfield has done is provided certain accessories as standard to make the GT more touring-friendly.
This model comes with removable soft panniers and a dual touring seat for added comfort. The bike also comes fitted with a compact engine guard and sump guard. The short tinted fly screen enhances the overall looks of the machine. We also get the CNC machined bar-end mirrors and Oil filler cap.
Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Lightning Edition
You will find the same features on this model – removable soft panniers, touring seat, compact engine guard, CNC oil filler cap and sump guard. What is different is the tall fly screen and touring mirrors. It seems that Royal Enfield has tried to give the Interceptor a more scrambler-like stance.
Both the Continental GT 650 Thunder Edition and Interceptor 650 Lightning Edition are available in limited units.
