Royal Enfield has been testing a cruiser-type motorcycle based on its highly successful models – the 650 Twins – for a long time now. While there had been multiple sightings of the motorcycle’s test mules undergoing road testing in India, a bunch of new spy shots have surfaced on the internet revealing that Royal Enfield has now started testing its twin-cylinder cruiser in the international markets as well.
Based on the spy pictures, there would be at least two variants of this motorcycle. One would come with USD front forks and alloy wheels, and the other model would have conventional telescopic forks and wire-spoke wheels.
Royal Enfield is also expected to offer a wide range of accessories for its upcoming cruiser. Items like windshields, panniers, crash guards, a sump guard, top box, touring rearview mirrors, and many more are likely to be made available as optional extras.
The 650 Twins-based cruiser is also expected to come equipped with Royal Enfield’s Tripper Navigation that allows riders to connect their smartphone via Bluetooth and benefit from turn-by-turn navigation – a feature that should be a part of the standard package considering this will be a cruiser.
Powering the cruiser would be the same 648cc, parallel-twin engine that is capable of producing 47 BHP at 7250 rpm and 52 Nm at 5250 rpm. It should be mated to a 6-speed gearbox accompanied by a slipper clutch.
