The beauty of custom-built motorcycles is that each model is unique in its own way. And that’s one of the main reasons why such bikes attract many motorcyclists. And Brian is no exception.
Brian is an avid biker who owns four exquisite motorcycles. He has a Harley-Davidson Roadking and a Ducati Desert Sled in Spain. And accompanying him on his rides in the UK is a Triumph Speed Triple. But it’s the Headbanger Hollister in Dubai that has captured his heart. This is his favourite bike. And going just by the looks of it, we can totally understand why!
Headbangers as custom-made in Italy. The Hollister, which Brian owns, is an old-school Bobber. It is a 2014 model which he had purchased here in Dubai around 2.5 years ago. Just like most of us, Brian has also carried out some modifications to his motorcycle. He says that his ride sounds good, looks good, and also handles really well.
Although Brian isn’t a part of any motorcycle riding clubs in the UAE, he does join organised rides every now and then. He prefers riding solo; enjoying the freedom of going anywhere, anytime. He says that he tries to ride 2-3 times a week here in the UAE.
During the hotter months, he leaves the house at 5 in the morning and aims to get back by 9, covering about 200 – 300 km. Since he mostly rides solo, he carries a backpack with him that contains water, a hat, and sunscreen! These should help in case he ever faces a breakdown in a remote area. But since his Headbanger Hollister uses an S&S engine, reliability has never been an issue for him.
Speaking of the engine, let’s have a glimpse of the Hollister’s specs, shall we? This motorcycle, as we mentioned, is powered by a gigantic 1442cc, V-twin S&S engine. It is an air-cooled unit that uses a carburettor. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle is built on an HB Softail frame and has a chain drive.
The stopping power on this machine is provided by a 292 mm disc brake up-front with a 4-piston caliper and the same-sized disc at the back. It runs on 16-in wheels. The front is wrapped by a 150 section tyre whereas the rear features a 200 mm section tyre. All this metal makes the Headbanger Hollister tip the scale at 235 kg (dry).
