Triumph Motorcycles has revealed the 2021 model of the Speed Twin. The iconic British manufacturer says that the updated Speed Twin promises to deliver better performance and handling and also comes with improved technologies and aesthetics.

2021 Triumph Speed Twin – What’s New?

Engine

The 1200cc twin-cylinder engine is now Euro 5 compliant which means it produces fewer harmful emissions. However, that doesn’t mean it has compromised in terms of power. In fact, at 100 PS, the revised engine produces 3 PS more power than the previous generation. Also, the 112 Nm of torque now kicks in at 4250 rpm which is 500 rpm lower in the rev range. Triumph has also used a new lightweight crankshaft and alternator that results in a 17% reduction in inertia. Hence, the new Speed Twin is more responsive than its predecessor.

Suspension & Brakes

The new Speed Twins is equipped with high-spec 43mm USD Marzocchi front forks that have been tuned in accordance with the twin rear shock absorbers to provide the handling characteristics that customers expect from a modern classic roadster. Triumph has also improved the braking of the new motorcycle by providing 320mm twin rotors at the front accompanied by Brembo 4-piston M50 calipers.

Electronics

The new generation Speed Twin comes with 3 riding modes – rain, road, and sport – which have been slightly tweaked for better performance. There’s also an under-seat USB charging port and an immobiliser integrated into the key.

Aesthetics

In addition to the new 12-spoke cast wheels and twin upswept sporty silencers with brushed stainless-steel headers, the Speed Twin is characterised by its signature-shaped 14.5L tank with knee indents, beautiful bar end mirrors, sculpted side panels and stylish bench seat.

Premium details and finishes are harmonised across the bike, including brushed aluminium front and rear mudguards with new mounts, plus brushed aluminium side panel finishers and heel guards. Additional premium touches and details can be found in the new anodised headlamp mounts to compliment the painted headlamp bowl, classic Monza fuel cap and clear anodised aluminium swingarm.

For 2021, the Speed Twin is available in three paint schemes: the new vibrant and lustrous Red Hopper scheme, the sophisticated Matt Storm Grey with subtle yellow accents, or the timeless Jet Black.
