Japanese tuning specialists Trick Star have pushed the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R to new extremes, clocking an astonishing 295 kmph (183.3 mph) with a custom turbo setup. This achievement marks one of the highest top speeds ever recorded for a 400cc motorcycle.
No strangers to performance records, Trick Star previously boosted the Kawasaki ZX-25R to a staggering 250 kmph (155 mph). For the ZX-4R, their first drag strip attempt capped at 262 kmph (163 mph) before engine troubles struck. After a full rebuild, the team returned with a vengeance, finally crossing the 289 kmph (180 mph) milestone.
The turbocharger, crafted in-house, is discreetly tucked between custom-designed white and green fairings typical of Trick Star’s signature style. Across three runs, the ZX-4R consistently flirted with 289 kmph (180 mph), culminating in the final record-breaking sprint.
This turbocharged feat showcases just how far the 400cc engine of the ZX-4R can be pushed.
