After updating the Street Triple range, Triumph shifted its focus on its flagship roadster, the Speed Triple. There had been reports about the company working on an updated model, however, no concrete information related to the new machine was available. Now, a new teaser video has been released which tells us that Triumph is going to unveil the 2021 Speed Triple 1200 RS on January 26.
Apart from showing the specific date, the teaser video also displays the twin headlamps of the new Speed Triple. They seem to be identical to the ones that Triumph have used in the latest-gen Street Triple models. The LED DRLs also solidify this finding. We also get to see a silhouette of the upcoming motorcycle. Triumph also added the exhaust note of the 2021 Speed Triple in the teaser video to make the enthusiasts even more excited about the new bike. Yes, it worked!
Interestingly, Triumph has used the suffix ‘1200 RS’ in the new Speed Triple’s name. This suggests that the British brand could use the 1200cc engine from the Tiger 1200. Probability of Triumph fitting a brand-new motor is also present. While the company could also work with a re-bored version of the 1050cc powerplant that used to come with the previous Speed Triple, however, this is highly unlikely.
The 2020 models of the Street Triple range have already proved their mettle in several markets. Based on that, we are confident that the new 2021 Speed Triple 1200 RS is going to cause a stir, too!
