Grind Hard Plumbing Co., known for their audacious custom vehicle builds, has once again pushed the boundaries of innovation with their latest creation: the ‘monster chopper.’ This motorcycle, inspired by the rugged aesthetic of monster trucks, is a testament to the team’s ingenuity and craftsmanship.
In a recent update on their YouTube series chronicling the build process, Grind Hard Plumbing Co. showed some of the intricate details of the monster chopper’s construction. Despite being well into the build, the team faced challenges in fine-tuning the steering and exhaust systems, highlighting the complexity of this ambitious project.
While many components of the bike are custom-made, including a unique multi-pronged swingarm steering system, the team opted for purchased parts to ensure optimal performance. The new steering setup, though costly, offers enhanced control and maneuverability, essential for handling the bike’s massive frame and oversized wheels.
Similarly, the exhaust system, sourced from Arrow, was customized to complement the bike’s monstrous profile. A custom-built silencer adds a distinctive touch to the bike’s roaring engine, further amplifying its commanding presence.
In addition to addressing technical challenges, the team focused on reinforcing the bike’s structure to withstand the immense forces exerted by its powerful 1,250cc KTM LC8 V-twin engine. From redesigning the rear wheel’s drive connection to fabricating a robust kickstand, every detail was meticulously crafted to ensure durability and stability on the road.
One of the standout features of the monster chopper is its minimalist design, devoid of traditional bodywork. This decision not only showcases the bike’s intricate engineering but also allows enthusiasts to appreciate its unconventional aesthetics in all their glory. With its imposing stature and unparalleled performance, the monster chopper is set to captivate audiences and redefine the boundaries of custom motorcycle design.
