Custom motorcycle builders often walk a fine line between classic aesthetics and modern performance, but Warsaw-based Demiurge Cycles has nailed the balance with ‘Obsidian’ – a slammed and stripped-down Harley Softail Deuce that fuses attitude with craftsmanship.

This 2005-model Softail FXSTD started as a mid-2000s cruiser with a Twin Cam V-twin engine and disc brakes but lacked the complexity of newer Harley-Davidsons. For builder Wojciech Aleksiejuk, that made it the perfect canvas for an aggressive, no-frills custom project – one that channels vintage bobber vibes with a Frisco cruiser stance.

A Stance That Demands Attention

The lowered, lean profile is the first thing that grabs your eye. Wojciech swapped the stock front end for a replica Harley-Davidson Springer fork, giving the bike an old-school chopper edge. Up front, a 21-inch spoked wheel with an Avon Speedmaster tire complements the Springer’s rigid aesthetic, while the rear sits on a 16-inch laced hoop wrapped in a Heidenau P29 tire, courtesy of a well-executed lowering kit.

But this isn’t just about looks – getting the ergonomics right was a major challenge. The original Softail platform wasn’t designed for mid-mounted foot controls, but Wojciech was determined to enhance rider control and comfort. To achieve this, he had to custom-machine the primary covers to allow the shifter linkage to pass through, while the rear brake master cylinder was relocated to accommodate the new foot peg position. The final setup includes vintage-style Bates pegs from Biltwell Inc., Dyna-sourced components, and CNC-machined brackets.

Minimalist Bodywork, Maximum Style

With the stock fenders and bodywork tossed aside, the Softail now wears a Lowbrow Customs fuel tank, fitted with a Prism Supply Co. petcock and gas cap. A one-off solo seat and a minimalist wiring cover add to the bike’s raw simplicity, while a modified trials-style rear fender keeps things clean without detracting from the aggressive stance.

The cockpit is equally refined, featuring custom stainless steel risers and a narrow, swooping handlebar, all fitted with Kustom Tech grips, a Biltwell mirror, and a discreetly mounted Motogadget speedometer. Every wire is hidden inside the bars and frame tubes, resulting in an ultra-clean look.

Dark Elegance with a Performance Punch

Powering Obsidian is the original 399cc Twin Cam engine, but with a performance-focused twist. It breathes through a Prism carb bracket, choke, and mini ignition, paired with a Lowbrow air cleaner and breather bolts. The twin stainless steel exhausts – hand-fabricated and fitted with custom baffles – run parallel for a mean, muscular look.

To match its sinister stance, the bike sports a deep obsidian black paint job by Artbrush Workshop, complemented by Cerakoted black components and just the right amount of polished detailing to keep things visually striking.

A Promising Future for Demiurge Cycles

Obsidian isn’t just a custom Softail, it’s a statement. Wojciech Aleksiejuk has transformed this Harley into a sleek, aggressive, and meticulously engineered bobber that speaks to purists and performance junkies alike. Demiurge Cycles is still in its early days, but with builds like this, it’s clear that Wojciech is a name to watch in the custom motorcycle scene.
