Hyosung has announced its new GV 300 S Bobber for the European markets. It’s a gorgeous-looking cruiser with a total blacked-out treatment for a bolder stance which should appeal to novice riders. Novice, because the GV 400 S Bobber has a 296cc V-twin engine and it weighs around 172kg.
For a displacement of close to 300cc, Hyosung went ahead with a V-twin and not a single, perhaps, because the former is much smoother than the latter. Yes, it would add up to the total cost of the bike but it will also add up to the overall rider experience. Being a cruiser, riders would expect the GV 300 S Bobber to provide a relaxed and smooth ride quality. The V-twin seems to be just the right option for the job.
As for the numbers, this engine produces 30 horsepower at 8500 revs and 25.6 Nm at 6000 revs. Not intimidating at all, right? It is a liquid-cooled unit that has a SOHC setup and comes paired to a 6-speed ‘box.
Another feature of the Hyosung GV 300 S Bobber that is in favour of beginner riders is its low saddle height. With just 710mm above the surface, most riders would be able to plant both their feet firmly on the ground. This should help in the bike’s manoeuvrability and also boost the rider’s confidence.
What else? We already like the way the GV 300 S Bobber looks. Some features like the round side turn signals, round headlight, fork gaiters, and patterned seat add a retro-touch, that’s nice. We also find the ‘Bobber’ logo on the fuel tank beautifully done.
If you’re in France, you’d need to shell out 4,990 Euros to buy a brand-new Hyosung GV 300 S Bobber. That’s about 19,784 AED. Had the cruiser been available here in the UAE, would you have bought it? Let us know in the comments.
