MotoGP returned last weekend after a long summer break and what a race it was at the British GP to get things going again. We’ve got 4 Ducati riders in the top 5 standings!
The 2022 British GP was an interesting race and Fabio’s long lap penalty (for causing a collision in Assen) made things even spicier. Also, Espargaro suffered injuries on his feet after a huge crash during the FP4 earlier last weekend. The Aprilia rider, however, showed up and finished in the top 10 at the British GP.
Fabio’s long lap penalty cost him places – from 2nd to 5th – allowing Bagnaia and Rins to get past the world champion. The drama in the front pack of the riders were really something. Zarco, who started at the pole, lost his opportunity to a race win as he lost his front end in a corner, hence, crashing out of the British GP.
Rins displayed good riding skills and kept the game hot along with the Ducati riders Bagnaia and Miller. But out of no where came Vinales on his Aprilia. He started the race from the 2nd place but had a poor start and lost many positions. He pushed hard and was soon in the top 3.
Vinales kept pushing and on the final lap it seemed that the Spaniard would take the first position from Bagnaia but perhaps he was way too excited and impatient and made two mistakes. After which there was no way he could have got past the leading Ducati.
So, Bagnaia finished first, Vinales second and Miller third. The fourth position was secured for Ducati by Bastianini followed by another Ducati rider, Martin. Rins was at 7th while the French world champion crossed the chequered flag at 8th.
