The 2020 MotoGP season was scheduled to kick off on March 8 at the Losail International Circuit. However, that’s not going to happen because, unfortunately, the organisers had to cancel the opening night race due to the global COVID-19 outbreak. Also, as a result of the coronavirus scare, Qatar has imposed strict travel restrictions.

MotoGP fans around the world were impatiently waiting for the 2020 MotoGP season to commence but this wasn’t the start that they’d been looking forward to. However, with the spread of coronavirus, this forced cancellation, perhaps, was the right decision to make.

While the MotoGP race stands cancelled, both Moto2 and Moto3 races will take place as per their original schedule as all the riders and the teams are already in the country for the three-day official test.
