The 2019-20 National Sportsbike Super Series has been great so far. Just like each of its previous rounds, round 4, that took place last weekend, was action-packed, too. We got to see some serious racing and brilliant riders. Talking about brilliant riders, local rider Aref Al Marzooqi made his National Sportsbike Super Series debut in round 4 and grasped the 3rd place.
Aref joined the Milwaukee Ducati Pro-Twins class as a rookie. Thanks to Waleed Al Shemais Racing for sponsoring him and providing a great opportunity to the young and aspiring rookie rider to showcase his talent and skills, which he did.
Aref managed to get a strong start in both races and was able to hang in with the more experienced riders for a few laps before the regulars were able to find a bit more pace as the race went on. Even then, Aref continued to push harder and harder, and his fine efforts rewarded him with a 3rd place in race 2. He’s a rider to keep an eye out for in the future races to come!
Waleed Al Shemais is looking to sponsor talented local riders such as Aref Al Marzooqi to give them a helping hand and help them be the rising stars. The growth of the local talented riders will eventually lead to the overall development of the motorsport in the UAE and make the region a worldwide preferred location for the motorsport.
The next and the final round of the 2019-20 National Sportsbike Super series is scheduled to take place on 6 March 2020 at the Dubai Autodrome from 9:30 am onwards.
