Five-time World Record Holder in Endurance Motorcycle, Lotfi Hamrouni, popularly known as LH11; has done it again! He has set a new World Record for visiting 49 hospitals across 7 cities in the United Arab Emirates in 21 hours. Hamrouni’s main purpose of this endurance motorcycle challenge was not about personal achievement, but a good cause to thank the Frontline Heroes (Covid-19 warriors) during the celebration of the 49th UAE National Day.
As 2020 is considered a pandemic year by the World Health Organisation (WHO), Hamrouni felt the urge of doing something to support the Covid-19 warriors. He decided to perform a special ride in the honour of UAE’s 49th National Day and visit 49 Hospitals across 7 Emirates on his new motorcycle – the 2021 Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory.
LH11’s solo ride idea was well received and approved by the Emirates Motorsports Organisation (EMSO). His new mission was endorsed by several bodies such as the Ministry of Health & Prevention, General Authority of Sports, Dubai Health Authority, The Emirates, Federal National Council, Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, National Ambulance, and National Olympic Committee.
Hamrouni’s ride kick-started on 2 December at 11:11 am. It was a spectacular start from the Sheikh Rashid Hospital in Dubai with an amazing showcase of Dubai’s Luxury Ambulance Cars; to name few there was the Nissan GTR, Corvette C8, Range Rover, and also many motorcycles. LH11 was very focused, determined, and committed to complete the 49 hospitals visits within 24 hours and get the Flag “Solo Together to Thank Our Frontliners” signed by the Frontline Heroes.
Hamrouni visited 15 hospitals in Dubai, 15 in Abu Dhabi, 2 in Fujairah, 4 in Ras Al Khaimah, 1 in Umm Al Quwain, 3 in Ajman, 8 in Sharjah and then returned to Dubai to visit the final Dubai Hospital. LH11 was ahead of the time as he was riding a supersport bike which he found it suitable for this endurance event.
Sharing his views about his latest challenge, Hamrouni said, “I made many people happy during my appreciation ride and they made me happy too. I had the opportunity to meet with UAE Federal National Council Members, doctors, nurses, and hospital management who came specially to see me and sign the flag late night and very early morning. Many Frontliners didn’t believe that I’ve been riding non-stop for more than 20 hours to meet them in person and thank them for their hard work.
All 49 hospitals which LH11 had visited will receive the Appreciate Certificate endorsed by the UAE Officials mentioned above.
Hamrouni ‘s Appreciation Ride 49 UAE mission was accomplished on 3 December at 8:11 am at Dubai Hospital. The impressive closing ceremony was concluded at 11:11 am with the amazing sounds of all Ambulance Vehicles present at Dubai Hospital.
That was LH11’s way on two motorised wheels to say Thank You to all the Frontline Heroes in the UAE. Hamrouni believes that it is our responsibility to get fit, stay safe, and healthy during our fight against the Covid-19.
