Earlier this month, a big recall for 2019-2023 BMW R 1250 GS have been announced which includes R 1250 GS Adventure and R 1250 RTP models too.
The reason for the recall is a potential risk of a broken gearbox input shaft. Based on the reports, this shaft could become overloaded and hence break possibly causing the rear wheel to lock which could turn out to be pretty dangerous.
BMW says that around 18,489 motorcycles have been affected by this recall. Owners will be notified and advised to stop riding their motorcycles and contact their local authorized BMW dealer for recall service. BMW has also issued a Stop Sale notice to its dealers.
As of now, this recall is valid for customers in North America.
