Honda CB1000F Concept

Five years after unveiling the CB-F Concept, Honda has now introduced the CB1000F Concept, a retro-styled naked motorcycle that’s not just a nostalgic nod to the past, but a near-production-ready machine.

Inspired by the 1981 Honda CB750F – specifically in Freddie Spencer’s iconic AMA Superbike livery – the CB1000F brings together old-school looks and modern engineering. Underneath its vintage bodywork lies the engine and chassis of the upcoming CB1000 Hornet, making it a far more viable production model than the CB-F Concept it evolves from.

Power comes from a 150 hp, 998cc inline-four, derived from the 2017 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade, mounted in a steel twin-spar frame. The bike also features Showa SFF-BP forks, a monoshock, and a dual-sided swingarm, ensuring sporty dynamics without the premium cost of the older CB1000R platform.

Unveiled at the Osaka Motorcycle Show, the CB1000F appeared alongside two custom variants – a blue Moriwaki endurance-style model and a bold Guccimaze edition created with Japanese fashion label Beams.

Aesthetically, it nails the retro vibe: a square tank, ducktail tail section, large rectangular taillight, and round LED headlamp with dual horns up front. With the legendary CB1300 Super Four bowing out this year, the CB1000F is poised to carry the torch for Honda’s big retro inline-fours into the modern era.

All signs point to production – possibly very soon!
