Swedish stunt rider Magnus Carlsson has shattered two Guinness World Records (GWR)—one for the fastest handlebar-mounted wheelie and another for the longest distance ridden sitting backwards on a motorcycle.
202 km/h Handlebar Wheelie
Carlsson pushed the limits by performing a handlebar wheelie at an astonishing 125.93 mph (202.66 km/h) on an airfield in Sweden during the summer of 2023. The record was only recently recognized by GWR, surpassing his previous mark of 109.2 mph (175.74 km/h) set earlier in the same year.
“The handlebar wheelie is my absolute favorite stunt,” Carlsson shared. “I wanted to break the 200 km/h barrier while I still had the bike and the skills.”
306 km Backwards Ride
Carlsson’s second record was for the longest distance ridden backwards on a motorcycle. Riding a KTM Duke, he covered an incredible 190.14 miles (306 km), smashing the previous record by over 65 miles (104 km).
Describing the challenge, he said, “The goal was 250 km, but I aimed for 300 km. When I finally stopped and turned around, it felt completely wrong to sit facing forward.”
These breathtaking feats cement Carlsson’s legacy as one of the most daring stunt riders in the world.
