Royal Enfield is preparing to make “some noise” in the EV segment with the unveiling of its first-ever electric motorcycle at EICMA on November 4, 2024. Ahead of its formal debut, a pre-production test model was spotted on the streets of Barcelona, giving us a first glimpse of what’s to come.
This is the first time the Royal Enfield electric motorcycle has been seen in its near-production form. Despite being a modern EV, it proudly showcases the brand’s signature vintage charm.
The design closely follows the Electrik01 concept, featuring a teardrop-shaped fuel tank and a retro-inspired headlamp similar to what we see on some of Royal Enfield’s current models like the Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650 and Super Meteor 650. The bike also draws inspiration from Royal Enfield’s heritage, incorporating girder forks and a rear fender reminiscent of the 1940s Flying Flea model. Other classic details include chrome-finished circular mirrors, round turn indicators, a single seat, a circular tail lamp, and a digital instrument console.
While official technical details are still under wraps, the test mule reveals that the battery and electric motor have been neatly integrated into the bike’s frame. It sports a mono-shock rear suspension and is expected to come with alloy wheels, signaling a mix of modern performance with timeless design.
