Ducati Panigale V4 is already a brilliant motorcycle. However, the Italians are dedicated to making the most out of everything and that’s why Ducati has its Superleggeras. We have had them in the past and soon there’ll be a new one in a very limited number of hands. Superleggera means ‘superlight’ and that’s what Ducati tries to achieve in every iteration of the motorcycle. This time, it is the V4 Superleggera.
Some key specs of the upcoming Ducati V4 Superleggera have come into the highlight which got us on the edge of our chairs!
So as expected, the new Superleggera will weigh lesser, a mere 152 kg dry (approx), which is around 20 kg lighter than the Panigale V4! Ducati has achieved this number by using an extensive amount of carbon fibre – entire chassis, subframe, wheels, and swingarm, all are made of carbon fibre.
Also, and it is quite obvious, the V4 Superleggera will be more powerful. It uses the same Panigale V4’s 998cc V4 engine which has been given a boost to churn out 234 bhp with an Akrapovic slapped on.
There’s also a racing kit which includes an Akrapovic racing exhaust, carbon fibre dry clutch cover, carbon and titanium swingarm cover and much more. All of it to reduce weight and give you the extra edge, whatever is available.
To put all that power into the ground and propel the bike forward, there will be Pirelli race tyres and to bring the bike to a halt, Brembo Stylema R brakes have been employed.
As for the price, it seems to be inversely proportional to the weight of the Superleggera – the lighter the bike gets, the higher its price tag is – $100,000 (AED 367,295) to be precise! It is being said that it will enter production in April 2020 and deliveries should begin the following month and it will be available in limited numbers.
