Ducati’s mad and magnificent Hypermotard is back, and for 2026, it’s undergone a total transformation. Two decades after the original concept turned heads, the fourth-generation Hypermotard V2 arrives leaner, meaner, and smarter — now powered by Ducati’s all-new 890cc V-twin with variable valve timing.

This new motor ditches the brand’s traditional Desmodromic valves in favor of conventional springs, but don’t mistake that for compromise. Despite a slight reduction in capacity, the Hypermotard V2 is now the most powerful and lightest iteration yet, pushing out 118.4 bhp at 10,750 rpm and 94 Nm of torque at 8,250 rpm. The new engine also acts as a structural chassis component, helping drop the dry weight to 180 kg, with the high-spec SP trimming it further to 177 kg.

Gone is the familiar trellis frame — in comes a cast alloy swingarm directly mounted to the engine and an aluminum monocoque front section that integrates the airbox. The result is sharper handling and superb balance. The SP version ups the ante with Ohlins suspension, Brembo M50 calipers, and forged wheels, while the standard model gets adjustable Kayaba forks and Brembo M4.32 brakes.

Electronics are cutting-edge, with a six-axis IMU powering cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, launch control, and four riding modes. A 5-inch TFT dash keeps the rider informed, and yes — there’s a pit limiter for those track days.
Styling-wise, the new Hypermotard stays true to its roots: twin under-seat exhausts, a bold front beak, and aggressive supermoto ergonomics. The bars and pegs have been shifted forward for better front-end feel, while the 880 mm seat height hits a sweet spot for both road and track riders.
