Stage 3 of Dakar 2020 had the same starting and finishing place, Neom. The route covered a total distance of 504 km and included giant rocks of Wadi ash Sharmah, beautiful landscapes, and rocky terrain. It was a difficult course to navigate.
The biggest blow was Frenchman Adrien Van Beveren’s early crash. He was only about 4km into the special when he lost control of his Yamaha. As per the reports, he didn’t lose his consciousness and was attended by the medical team and transported by helicopter to the bivouac in Neom. Adrien also withdrew from the last two editions of Dakar. He has won the Enduropale du Touquet many times. It is disheartening to know about his premature exit from Dakar 2020.
But as they say, the show must go on. American rider, RICKY BRABEC finished the Neom loop first and clocked a time of 03H 29′ 31”. He was followed by JOSE IGNACIO CORNEJO FLORIMO with a time of 03H 35′ 27”. And the 3rd position was taken by KEVIN BENAVIDES. His time was 03H 36′ 53”. All these riders were from MONSTER ENERGY HONDA TEAM 2020.
DAVID MCBRIDE from VENDETTARACINGUAE.COM finished at the 80th position with a time of 05H 12′ 56”.
MOHAMMED BALOOSHI came in 43rd with 04H 34′ 57”. His teammate ABDULLAH AL SHATTI was at the 107th position with 06H 00′ 36”.
