It’s not every day that a concept bike makes it to production without losing its essence, but Buell has done just that. The Buell Super Cruiser, first teased in 2023, has officially rolled off the production line at the company’s Grand Rapids, Michigan facility – almost exactly as promised.

Built around the same bones as the Hammerhead 1190RX superbike, the Super Cruiser carries Buell’s performance DNA in a stripped-down, FXR-inspired package. Powering it is the 72-degree Rotax Helicon-derived ET-V2 V-twin engine, churning out a wild 175 horsepower and 127 Nm of torque at 8,500 rpm. This isn’t your typical cruiser – it’s a muscle-bound American bruiser meant to blend sportbike aggression with street-savvy style.

The production version keeps the cafe-style quarter fairing and tall bars but ditches the Buell-era perimeter brakes and Ohlins setup. In their place are dual Brembo discs and a Fox suspension package, giving the bike a solid balance of performance and comfort. The high-bolster Saddlemen seat remains, keeping its cafe-meets-cruiser aesthetic intact.

In the US, Buell has priced the 2026 Super Cruiser at $25,900 (AED 95,130), right in the ballpark of CEO Bill Melvin’s earlier target. Deliveries are expected to start soon after final federal certifications are cleared, with those who pre-ordered expected to receive their bikes within two to four months. The very first production model – VIN 0001 – will be displayed at the Barber Motorsports Museum during the Barber Vintage Festival in October 2025 before being permanently dedicated to the museum’s collection.

The 2026 Super Cruiser will ship with its standard fairing, dual-disc brakes, Fox suspension, and 50-state-approved exhaust, but Buell plans to offer a range of customization options. Production will ramp up gradually, as each motorcycle is hand-built to ensure quality and long-term brand sustainability.
