Bosch’s latest radar-based Advanced Rider Assistance System (ARAS), first seen on the KTM 1390 Super Adventure S EVO, is set to debut on more high-end motorcycles in 2025. This innovative system enables motorcycles to come to a complete stop when following traffic and automatically pull away once the road clears.
The ARAS tech uses front and rear radars to detect obstacles and apply additional brake pressure in emergencies, helping prevent collisions. It works seamlessly with automatic gearboxes, already common in premium motorcycles.
Bosch also plans to introduce this radar technology to middle-weight bikes and high-end scooters. However, the system will come at an added cost, as manufacturers will need to upgrade braking hardware with advanced components to ensure smooth integration.
