Renowned customizer Fran Manen and his team at Lord Drake Kustoms (LDK) have once again raised the bar with their latest masterpiece, the BMW R18 Bobber Racer. This stunning build carries the aggressive appeal of a bobber with vintage elegance and a dash of sporty flair, making it a standout.
The project began when a BMW motorcycle dealership near the LDK workshop in Vélez Málaga, Spain, handed over a brand-new BMW R18 to Fran Manen. The mission was clear — to create a bobber-style machine that delivered enhanced comfort without compromising the bold aesthetics typically associated with bobbers.
To achieve this, the team at LDK opted for a more rearward handlebar, neatly concealing the electrical wiring inside. A touring-style seat was introduced to ensure a plush ride, while a sleek cafe racer-style windscreen added a sporty touch, blending functionality with classic charm.
The BMW R18 Bobber Racer features meticulously crafted bobber-style fenders mounted with metal tube side supports that seamlessly hug the wheels. A side-arm license plate holder was installed just behind the wheel, keeping the rear clean and minimalist.
For lighting, the team chose minimalist Kellerman 3-in-1 taillights with integrated turn signals at the rear, while the front grips were fitted with Motogadget M-Blaze disc turn signals to maintain the clean and sleek look.
A single-seater seat was reupholstered with a micro-perforated black channel finish, adding a refined texture to the bike’s silhouette. The exhaust received a custom touch with black BMW R18 tips, while the heat-insulating tape was wrapped around the manifolds, enhancing both aesthetics and functionality.
The paintwork is another highlight — a striking combination of gloss black and off-white, elegantly detailed with gloss black pinstriping. This timeless color scheme complements the vintage personality of the BMW R18 Bobber Racer while maintaining a sophisticated modern edge.
