Yamaha Tenere 700 is indeed a purposeful motorcycle. It’s more function than aesthetics. It doesn’t look bad, it’s just different and different might not be everyone’s cup of tea.
But now there’s a custom body kit in the market that allows you to visually transform your Yamaha Tenere 700 into a retro Dakar bike. It is created by people at Unit Garage and I think they’ve done a wonderful job.
The design of the kit appears to be inspired by the 1986 Yamaha Tenere XT 600 motorcycle that was used in the Dakar rally. Perhaps, the best part of the kit is the round LED headlamp and the beaked front fender. The headlight screens also add to the overall stance of the motorcycle. Then we also have the aluminium skid plate.
Unit Garage is currently offering the Yamaha Tenere 700 body kit in two colours of blue and black and then there’s an option of getting the kit unpainted. So I believe that would give the freedom to the enthusiasts to paint their own creations/ideas/designs.
