The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R has to be one of the highly-awaited motorcycles of the year. After several spy shots and videos, the quarter-litre bike has been finally and officially launched and the first country to receive this amazing inline 4-cylinder machine is Indonesia.

There are two variants of the Ninja ZX-25R – Standard and Special Edition (SE). The former has been priced at IDR 96 million or AED 24,434 whereas the latter will set you back by IDR 112.9 million or AED 28,506. Both the variants are powered by a beautifully crafted 249cc inline 4-cylinder engine that’s the primary attraction of the motorcycle.

Kawasaki has tuned this rev-happy powerplant to churn out a healthy 50PS at 15,500 revs and 22.9 Nm at 14,400 revs. With the RAM air intake, the power output can be increased to 51 PS. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed slick transmission that is accompanied by a slipper and assist clutch. Kawasaki is also providing a bi-directional quickshifter with the SE of the Ninja ZX-25R. There is also 3 riding modes and traction control.

Being a performance-oriented machine, the Ninja ZX-25R is equipped with a pair of 37mm Showa SFF-BP fork at the front and a horizontal backlink rear monoshock. The motorcycle also features an aluminium swingarm and high-tensile steel chassis developed with learnings from the Ninja H2. As for the braking, there is a single 310mm rotor upfront with a radially mounted monobloc calliper with dual-pistons and a 220mm rotor at the rear. ABS is available only with the SE variant.

The Standard variant of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R is available in Metallic Spark Black. On the other hand, the Special Edition has 3 colour choices – Lime Green/Ebony, Metallic Spark Black/Pearl Flat Stardust White, and Candy Plasma Blue/Metallic Spark Black.

The new Ninja ZX-25R looks promising. It should be a great street as well as track machine. We hope Kawasaki brings this quarter-litre machine in the UAE, too.
